Membership cards
Active members. Look for your card in the September issue of the Educator Magazine. It is scheduled to be received by members in late August.
New members
CTA will mail new members their card throughout the year.
Head’s up
If you pay educational union dues at another school, please make sure to enter the name of the school/college on the “Additional employer” line on your membership form so we can make sure you aren’t paying double dues to CCA, CTA, or NEA.
You will receive a confirmation email from SCFA Membership Chair SCFA Vice President once your application has been received and processed. Dues will be deducted. automatically from your paycheck.
What will it cost me?
For full-time faculty monthly dues are $127.60, with all the benefits from each of our combined unions.
Here is a breakdown for the four (4)unions we are part of:
- SCFA dues are $10.00 per month.
- CCA dues are $9.90 per month.
- CTA dues are $85.80 per month.
- NEA dues are $21.90 per month.
- Total per month is $127.60.
For part-time faculty working 60% or less monthly dues are $25.56. SCFA Part-time union dues are about ¼ the total cost of full-time union dues, with all the same benefits from each of our combined unions.
Here is a breakdown for the four (4)unions we are part of:
- SCFA dues are $4.00 per month.
- CCA dues are $4.95 per month.
- CTA dues are $10.38 per month.
- NEA dues are $7.23 per month.
- Total per month is $26.56.
What will membership include?
Members of SCFA are entitled to:
- Access to SCFA representation in disputes with your dean over contract issues or other working conditions.
- Vote in local faculty elections.
- Run for SCFA office.
- Provide input on decisions affecting your wages, hours, and working conditions.
Are there other benefits?
Membership also entitles you to some terrific benefits from CCA/CTA/NEA, the parent organization of SCFA:
1. Legal
- $1 million educator’s liability insurance protection.
- Legal. CTA members are eligible to participate in the CTA Group Legal Services Program (GLSP). The GLSP provides high quality employment related legal services to CTA members and chapters to assure that their contractual, statutory, and constitutional rights are protected.
